Ummahani holds a Degree in Law (LLB) from Bayero University Kano and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2003. She has a Masters in Business and Commercial Law and a Diploma in Negotiation Skills.
Ummahani is a Senior Counsel and Capital Market Solicitor who has had various work experience in litigation, private banking, corporate practice and consultancy. Prior to joining ONE17, she has led various legal advisory projects advising top tier corporations on key transactions ranging from private placement, mergers & acquisitions, and project finance. She recently advised on the setting up of a non-interest Bank in Nigeria, The Federal Government Nigeria Sovereign N100 Billion Sukuk Bond 1 & 2 and also advised the Nigerian Bank of Industry on a major Islamic Development Bank Facility.
Ms Amin is a member of Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, Nigerian Bar Association, International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) and International Bar Association.
